RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em><\/a> producers are upping the ante again, this time with the addition of the new show RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race Live Untucked<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The docuseries, which premieres on WOW Presents Plus Wednesday, April 17, follows the stars of RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race Live!<\/em> in Las Vegas as they prep for their nightly performances and wind down after shows. It\u2019s like regular Untucked<\/em>, but somehow with more feathers.<\/p>\n

While the Vegas show features a rotating cast of Drag Race<\/em> alums, the new Untucked<\/em> highlights legends including Latrice Royale<\/strong>, Coco Montrese<\/strong>, Kennedy Davenport<\/strong>, Derrick Barry<\/strong>, Bosco<\/strong>, Lawrence Chaney<\/strong>, Alexis Mateo<\/strong> and Pangina Heals<\/strong>. Most of the cast have been traveling in the same circles for years, but Bosco, 30, is a newer member of the fold, having debuted in RPDR<\/em> season 14, which aired in 2022.<\/p>\n

Bosco quickly bonded with Derrick, who\u2019s been starring in the Vegas revue since it began in 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cDerrick\u2019s kind of the girl,\u201d Bosco exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> ahead of the Live Untucked<\/em> premiere. \u201cA lot of us within the franchise have done this guest spot moment at the Vegas revue, and every single person, I was going, \u2018What do I need to expect? Who\u2019s there, what do we like?\u2019 And every single person I talked to is like, \u2018Derrick\u2019s the girl. She\u2019s so nice. You want to sit next to her, she\u2019ll welcome you in and she\u2019ll take care of you and show you the ropes.\u2019 And that was exactly what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Derrick, 40, started performing in Vegas long before he starred on season 8 of RPDR<\/em>, but he\u2019s determined not to become the Cristal Connors of Live Untucked<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThey put the bass in their walk! RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race introduced drag to a mainstream audience in 2009, but the art form has thrived in the LGBTQ community for decades. RuPaul \u2014 whose drag persona skyrocketed him to fame in the \u201990s\u00a0\u2014 told Us Weekly in 2012 that his idea for the unconventional series was [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhen I moved here, I was 20 years old and I was 10 years younger than the next person, and it was kind of a hard adjustment to be the new one,\u201d Derrick told Us<\/em>. \u201cAnd so I\u2019ve consciously made an effort, anytime I work with anyone younger than me, that I want to be someone that builds them up, lifts them up, instead of tearing them down for whatever insecurity reason someone would do that for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Generational differences are on full display in the first couple episodes of Live Untucked<\/em>, with Coco, 49, kicking off a debate early on about whether blue is a \u201cmasculine\u201d color. The remark causes boomer accusations to fly, but Coco says the teasing is all in good fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s more of a kind of a welcome thing, because honestly, from being in entertainment this long \u2014 most of the time, the legends, if you\u2019re not even on their level, they don\u2019t even have a conversation with you at all,\u201d Coco explained to Us<\/em>. \u201cDoing a little banter with them is a \u2018welcome to the club\u2019 type thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Drag Race<\/em> fans know, good banter is as important as not wearing too many bodysuits in front of Michelle Visage<\/strong>, but even Coco was surprised by how quickly she and Lawrence, 27, developed a rapport.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone took me under their wig, and me and Coco get on so well,\u201d said Lawrence, who is the winner of Drag Race UK<\/em> season 2 and the host of House of Laughs<\/em>, another new show on WOW Presents Plus. \u201cWe have the craziest and most rotten sense of humor. \u2026 Everyone kind of got me, and I\u2019m very grateful for that. And I think you can see that in the show. Me and Coco get on like a house on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n

If the queens don\u2019t know each other super-well before joining the Live! cast, then the close quarters backstage helps speed the process along. Kennedy, 42, and Latrice, 52, had been friends for years before heading to Vegas, but sharing a dressing room has only deepened their friendship. According to Kennedy, Latrice kicks off the night by blasting Anita Baker<\/strong> ballads.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people listen to hype music and stuff like that, but we come from a different era where we call it drag music,\u201d Kennedy explained. \u201cIt kind of gets us in the mood and feeling our puss, and it motivates the brushes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou paint how you feel, you know what I mean?\u201d Latrice added. \u201cIt goes into your makeup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over in the Bosco and Derrick dressing room, it\u2019s all about what Bosco describes as \u201cdiva worship\u201d \u2014 they pick a pop star like Mariah Carey<\/strong> or Cher<\/strong>, and that\u2019s the theme for the evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also have a tradition where I call it my chardonnay stretch, where instead of stretching, I just have a glass of chardonnay and call it a day,\u201d Bosco added. \u201cThat usually gets me pumped up and in the mood.\u201d<\/p>\n
