Simpson\u2019s Cause Of Death<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cOn April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer,\u201d read a statement posted to Simpson\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheRealOJ32\/status\/1778430029350707380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Twitter account<\/a>\u00a0Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O.J. Simpson was a former football great who was accused of and ultimately acquitted of the brutal 1994 slayings of his ex-wife and her friend. Simpson\u2019s cause of death shouldn\u2019t be that big of a surprise to those who have been keeping tabs on him. He\u2019s been upfront about his cancer battle since last spring. <\/p>\n<p>In May 2023, Simpson posted a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheRealOJ32\/status\/1663576231726686209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a>\u00a0on X, aka Twitter, discussing his health. He revealed that he had recently \u201ccaught cancer\u201d and \u201chad to do the whole chemo thing.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>However, at the time he felt optimistic, adding that \u201cIt looks like I beat it.\u201d Though he did not reveal what type of cancer he was battling, a report earlier this year provided more details.<\/p>\n<p>A Las Vegas television station reported that Simpson was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and that treatment required him to be his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/02\/o-j-simpson-in-hospice-likely-killer-responds-to-cancer-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hospice care.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Simpson immediately posted a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheRealOJ32\/status\/1756014519917371577\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a>\u00a0on X that day. He denied the rumors that he was in hospice care,  but conceded that he was dealing with the health issues he had mentioned earlier. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cMy health is good. Simpson\u2019s Legacy<\/h2>\n<p>At the start of his career, Simpson was known as a celebrated running back on the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n<p>However, he is best known for his connection to the notorious for the death of his late wife Nicole Brown Simpson.<\/p>\n<p>Five days after she was found stabbed to death with her friend Ron Goldman outside of her condo 1994, the world watched as police chased Simpson and his friend Al Cowlings as they tried to flee questioning in a white Ford Bronco.<\/p>\n<p>Though charged with both of their murders, Simpson was found not guilty and not sent to prison. <\/p>\n<p>He eventually did find himself behind bars, however.
