\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Billy Dee Williams<\/strong><\/a> is sharing his thoughts on actors wearing blackface.<\/p>\n If you didn\u2019t know, blackface is the practice of non-black performers using black makeup to portray a caricature of black people on stage or on film.<\/p>\n In a new interview, the 87-year-old Star Wars<\/em> actor looked back at the late English actor Laurence Olivier<\/strong> wearing blackface in the 1965 movie adaption of Othello<\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cWhen he did Othello<\/em>, I fell out laughing,\u201d Billy<\/strong> recalled on the Club Random with Bill Maher<\/em> podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHe stuck his ass out and walked around because Black people are supposed to have big asses\u2026I fell out laughing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd Bradley Cooper thinks he\u2019s got a problem with the nose,\u201d host Bill Maher<\/strong><\/a> noted of Bradley Cooper<\/strong><\/a> wearing a prosthetic nose<\/a> to portray composer Leonard Bernstein<\/strong> in Maestro<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought it was hysterical,\u201d Billy<\/strong> chimed in. \u201cI love that kind of stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n Bill<\/strong> then said, \u201cToday, they would never let you do that.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Billy<\/strong> said that actor\u2019s doing blackface doesn\u2019t bother him because, \u201cIf you\u2019re an actor you should do anything you want to do.\u201d <\/p>\n Bill <\/strong>then pointed out that Billy<\/strong> once \u201cactually lived in a period where you couldn\u2019t do that. Where you couldn\u2019t play the part.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut it didn\u2019t matter,\u201d Billy<\/strong> argued. \u201cThe fact is \u2026 you don\u2019t go through life feeling like, \u2018I\u2019m a victim.\u2019 I refuse to go through life saying to the world, \u2018I\u2019m pissed off.\u2019 I\u2019m not gonna be pissed off 24 hours a day.\u201d <\/p>\n A few years ago, Billy<\/strong> came out as gender fluid<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
