Lance Reddick<\/a>\u2018s Hollywood colleagues sang his praises as both an actor and a human being after the Wire<\/em> alum died at 60 on Friday, March 17.<\/p>\n \u201cAcclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning<\/a> from natural causes,\u201d the actor\u2019s rep said in a statement to Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday. \u201cHe is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick<\/strong> and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Please respect his family\u2019s privacy at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n Among the first to pay tribute to the Maryland native was Wendell Pierce<\/strong><\/a>, who starred alongside Lance on the HBO crime drama The Wire<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cA man of great strength and grace,\u201d Pierce, 59, wrote via Twitter on Friday. \u201cAs talented a musician as he was an actor<\/a>. The epitome of class. A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP.\u201d<\/p>\n Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> director James Gunn<\/strong><\/a> chimed in, \u201cLance Reddick was an incredibly nice guy and an incredibly talented actor. This is heartbreaking<\/a>. My love goes out to all his family, friends and collaborators.\u201d<\/p>\n Lance was in the midst of a press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4<\/em> at the time of his death, with an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/em><\/a> scheduled for next week. His last social media post was a carousel of Instagram photos<\/a> of him and his dogs<\/a> promoting a \u201cfull line of @johnwickmovie dog swag.\u201d<\/p>\n The Fringe<\/em> alum, who married Stephanie in 2011, will appear posthumously in Ballerina<\/em>, Percy Jackson and the Olympians<\/em> and White Men Can\u2019t Jump<\/em>.<\/p>\n Ben Stiller<\/strong> <\/a>was among Lance\u2019s fellow actors<\/a> who praised his talents after his death.<\/p>\n \u201cLance Reddick was a beautiful and compelling actor. And a beautiful person. He worked with my mom, Anne Meara<\/a>, in her play Afterplay<\/em>, playing Raziel \u2014the waiter slash angel of death. He was exquisite in that and all he did,\u201d the Zoolander<\/em> star, 57, wrote via Twitter, adding, \u201cnothing is lost\u201d alongside a heart emoji.<\/p>\n Stephen King<\/strong><\/a>, meanwhile, noted that the news of Lance\u2019s passing at \u201cthe horribly unfair age of 60\u201d<\/a> came as he was \u201chalfway through rewatching The Wire<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n The novelist, 75, continued: \u201cWonderful actor; wonderful man.
