The Dark Knight<\/em> is Christopher<\/strong>\u2018s highest-grossing film to date, having generated over $1 billion worldwide.<\/p>\n Christopher<\/strong>\u2018s brother Jonathan Nolan<\/strong><\/a> recently revealed that the Oscar-winning filmmaker didn\u2019t want to direct another comic-book movie after Batman Begins<\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cChris was on the fence about making another one,\u201d Jonathan<\/strong> told Dax Shepard<\/strong><\/a> in the Armchair Expert<\/a><\/em> podcast. \u201cHe didn\u2019t want to become a superhero movie director.\u201d<\/p>\n On Batman Begins<\/em>, Jonathan<\/strong> recalled, \u201cTo me, it was like we built this amazing sports car, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Let\u2019s take it for a drive. Don\u2019t you want to make another one?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The Westworld<\/em> co-creator then explained how he convinced his brother to direct The Dark Knight<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI was literally sitting with [producer] Charles Roven and Chris and being like, \u2018Dude, don\u2019t be a chicken sh-t. Let\u2019s do this!\u2019 And I knew with the script \u2014 and he developed the story with David Goyer with a little bit of input from me \u2014 it was like first act detailed, second act somewhat detailed, third act \u2026 uh, he rides away at the end \u2014 once we had the script done, I was like, \u2018This is going to be great. This is exciting. We gotta make this movie.\u2019 And eventually, he came around.
