The wheels of change are turning as Vanna White<\/strong><\/a> joins Ryan Seacrest<\/strong><\/a> on his turf with an upcoming appearance on American Idol<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cA legend, a household name, a superstar named Vanna White is making a cameo on American Idol<\/em>,\u201d Seacrest, 49, told Good Morning America<\/em><\/a> in a segment that aired on Monday, April 8. \u201cShe\u2019s watched for years, and she\u2019s going to cohost a little bit with me on the next Idol.\u201d<\/p>\n

He teased: \u201cThere\u2019s Ryan, Vanna and some letters involved as well as contestants and judges, so check it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series premiered in 2002 on Fox with a star-studded judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. American Idol\u2018s freshman season introduced Kelly Clarkson, who would become the show\u2019s first breakout star. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An American Idol<\/em> rep confirmed to Us Weekly<\/em> that White, 67, will make a short cameo on tonight\u2019s episode, which is filming in Hawaii. She will help Seacrest introduce a contestant\u2019s performance, according to Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

White\u2019s brief cohosting gig on Idol<\/em> is a preview of what Wheel of Fortune<\/em><\/a> fans will get when Seacrest begins his stint as gameshow host. Seacrest was announced in June 2023 as Pat Sajak<\/strong>\u2019s replacement<\/a> following Sajak\u2019s retirement at the end of season 41<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tEverybody makes mistakes. Wheel of Fortune has entertained countless viewers since it originally premiered in 1975 \u2014 but with time also comes error. Since its inception, the game show has featured contestants who solve word puzzles in order to win cash and other prizes. Pat Sajak has hosted the show since 1981, earning 19 Daytime [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Seacrest, who has been hosting Idol<\/em> for two decades<\/a>, added: \u201cI can\u2019t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sajak, 77, is the second host of Wheel of Fortune<\/em>, taking over the role in 1981 after original emcee Chuck Woolery<\/strong> stepped down. White has been turning the puzzle board alongside Sajak since 1982<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following Sajak\u2019s retirement announcement, White\u2019s future on the series was up in the air. Rumors spread in June 2023 that Sony was considering \u201celiminating\u201d White\u2019s role<\/a> once Sajak was gone.<\/p>\n

Pat Sajak and Vanna White are the ultimate example of cohost chemistry \u2014 but their Wheel of Fortune destinies could have been very different. \u201cI didn\u2019t recommend Vanna, and Vanna knows this,\u201d Sajak told CBS Sunday Morning in 2020 while reflecting on White\u2019s audition nearly four decades prior. \u201cNot that she [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, Us<\/em> confirmed that same month that her role was not in jeopardy<\/a>. \u201cThere\u2019s no truth to the rumors that with Pat\u2019s retirement, Wheel of Fortune<\/em> plans on eliminating Vanna in any way, shape or form,\u201d a source close to production told Us<\/em>. \u201cThey\u2019re currently in negotiations with Vanna.\u201d<\/p>\n
