AJ McLean<\/strong><\/a> recently underwent liposuction that left him feeling like a new man.<\/p>\n

\u201cGenetically in my family, we all have extra skin on our necks, [and] for years, I was insecure,\u201d McLean, 46, said during the Thursday, April 4, episode of Amy Robach<\/strong> and T.J. Holmes<\/strong>\u2019 eponymous podcast<\/a>. \u201cBecause even when I would go back and forth with my weight, I always had a big beard because I was so insecure about [my neck].\u201d<\/p>\n

During the Backstreet Boys singer\u2019s turn on Secret Celebrity Drag Race <\/i><\/a>in December 2022, makeup artists introduced him to the concept of \u201ctaping\u201d to create a more enhanced jawline.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I saw what I looked like with a jawline, I got emotional and I found an amazing doctor and I went and I had lipo and face tightening on that area,\u201d McLean said. \u201cAfter all the healing was done, mixed with having my freaking six-pack back, which I haven\u2019t seen in a long time, I felt like I was 30 years old. And I just kept going.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOvercoming obstacles. AJ McLean achieved fame as a member of the Backstreet Boys, but a fair share of challenges have come along with his worldwide success. In 1992, the \u201cLarger than Life\u201d performer auditioned for the boyband and became the first official member of BSB. He was later joined by Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Kevin [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

McLean has lost more than 35 pounds<\/a>, which he partially credited to his sobriety. The singer also overhauled his fitness and diet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in the gym six times a week and trying to eat as healthy as I can,\u201d McLean added. \u201cTraveling is hard [during tours] but the fast food is definitely out. I\u2019m trying to give myself one exemption which is when I come home from being on the road from however long \u2026 my celebratory [meal] is always McDonald\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from his post-tour McDonald\u2019s meal, McLean tries to eat \u201cvery healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n
