\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Lizzo<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her feelings and how she overcame \u201crules\u201d ingrained in her since childhood.<\/p>\n The 35-year-old singer recently alluded to various controversies surrounding her and declared, \u201cI didn\u2019t sign up for this s-it. I QUIT.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n However, days later, she clarified what she meant by saying she quits<\/a>, confirming that she\u2019s not quitting music.<\/p>\n Now, Lizzo <\/strong>shared a Tumblr post of an essay she penned, where she talks about her feelings and how she was essentially taught to suppress her own feelings when she was a kid.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMelissa hated her feelings,\u201d the essay on her Tumblr<\/a> page began. \u201cShe buried them in a chest in the 5th grade (along with her ability to express them). Other peoples\u2019 feelings on the other hand was her forte. She could process, decipher and regurgitate other peoples emotions effortlessly.\u201d<\/p>\n Lizzo<\/strong> went in to talk about how when she was a child, she would have to help mediate family fights, and there were three rules, \u201c1.) Don\u2019t cry. 2.) Stay neutral; Deescalate 3.)Don\u2019t take anything personal. This isn\u2019t about you.\u201d<\/p>\n She shared one particular instance where she broke all the rules, then how after her father passed away, she still wouldn\u2019t break the rules, and how \u201cTraumas began to compact on Melissa, as they do.\u201d<\/p>\n After putting pain into rock music, she started to find \u201creason and purpose\u201d in her voice. <\/p>\n Lizzo<\/strong> concluded, \u201cMelissa began to fall for her feelings. Her feelings gave life purpose. They weren\u2019t always logical, as feelings seldom are. They were sloppy and embarrassing and rude and so fucking uncomfortable. But they were hers. And they were real. And when she sat alone sipping wine, staring at the moon\u2026They were the only ones still by her side. Ready to break the rules for her because they loved her.
