Daisy Kent<\/strong> <\/a>knew weeks before After the Final Rose <\/i>that she wouldn\u2019t hand out roses as the next Bachelorette<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very open and honest about it and very transparent that I wasn\u2019t sure if I wanted to do it but like two weeks before [AFTR <\/i>I had decided],\u201d Daisy, 25, said during the Thursday, April 4, episode of \u201cThe Viall Files\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cThey were all super nice and respectful and understood all my reasons. They still want to see me grow and said, \u2018If we can help you in any way, we want to.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Daisy was one of Joey Graziadei<\/strong>\u2019s final two women and opted to break up<\/a> with him in the finale \u2014 which was filmed in November 2023 \u2014 after she realized that Kelsey Anderson<\/strong> was \u201chis person.\u201d (Joey, 28, proposed to Kelsey, 25, moments after Daisy\u2019s breakup. They are still together.)<\/p>\n

After Daisy left The Bachelor<\/i>, she began talks with producers about becoming the franchise\u2019s next lead. During AFTR <\/i>in March, she publicly declined the role.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile some roses stand the test of time, others wilt before the Neil Lane engagement ring can be resized. The Bachelor premiered on ABC in March 2002 with Alex Michel dubbed the world\u2019s most eligible Bachelor. More than 20 women competed for his heart and one of the most successful reality TV franchises was born. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s, like, a few reasons. One is my health is an aspect of it and I knew as the lead, it\u2019s a lot on you \u2014 not only emotionally but also physically.\u201d Daisy, who is deaf and has a cochlear implant<\/a>, explained on Thursday. \u201cYou\u2019re up super late, it\u2019s nonstop and I talked to a lot of past leads when [the show] was in talks with me and I just knew from a health point it would be a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daisy also admitted that she \u201cwasn\u2019t ready for that specific thing,\u201d seemingly referring to the commitment of getting engaged at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think coming off the show and doing the show, I didn\u2019t realize how much of a big thing it is,\u201d Daisy said. \u201cI think right now I just want to live and be happy. I\u2019m always gonna jump for opportunities but I just think this specific opportunity wasn\u2019t right for me right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daisy further stressed that she was concerned about \u201churting other people\u201d during the season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Bachelor franchise is filled with love, heartbreak, and of course, glamorous gowns. Each season, two women get dressed to the nines to either get engaged or get sent home during the show\u2019s finale episode. While one contestant receives the final rose and can look back at their gown with fond memories, the runner-up\u2019s dress [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s around 30 people and, like, you can\u2019t send everyone home at once. What if I didn\u2019t actually like them?\u201d she explained. \u201cI don\u2019t think I could sit there and kiss someone and you know what I mean? So, I thought really long and hard about all of it. It wasn\u2019t an easy decision. I was wondering, like, after it got announced how I would feel \u2026 but I\u2019m, like, so happy right now that I didn\u2019t. So, it feels good [and] like I made the right decision for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
