Apple\u2019s online services were hit with an outage that cut many of us off from the App Store, Apple TV, and Apple Music on Wednesday night. The system status page<\/a> for Apple\u2019s online service noted an outage beginning at 6:31PM ET affecting those services, as well as Arcade, Audiobooks, Books, Podcasts, Fitness Plus, and its new Apple Sports app<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Now, the status page lists them all as \u201coutage resolved\u201d as of 7:35PM ET, and they seem to be working again. The @AppleSupport<\/a> account on X did not list a reason for the issues but directed users to check the status page for more information.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n On Downdetector<\/a>, it looks like the first reports of issues started coming in just after 6PM ET. The Verge<\/em> has contacted Apple about the problems and will update this post if we get a response. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n We didn\u2019t see any specific error messages other than a failure to connect message received while trying to update or install apps, stream TV shows, or play music. Serious outages like this are not frequent for Apple, but this one comes just a few hours after an outage took down WhatsApp globally<\/a> and caused problems for other Meta services like Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Update April 3rd, 7:55PM ET: <\/strong>Noted the outage has been resolved.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
