Former Bachelorette<\/em><\/a> star Jason Tartick<\/strong><\/a> feels contestants in the franchise should use their time during the fantasy suite dates<\/a> to have serious discussions about money and financial goals.<\/p>\n \u201cRealistically, who\u2019s talking about money or their career in a fantasy suite? Probably next to no one,\u201d Jason, 35, told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> ahead of the Tuesday, April 2, release of his book, Talk Money to Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n Jason interviewed several Bachelor<\/em><\/a> and Bachelorette<\/em> leads to find out if they ever discussed what their financial situations were between themselves and contestants during the fantasy suite dates. That is one of the only times cameras aren\u2019t rolling and they can divulge such personal information.<\/p>\n He spoke to former Bachelor<\/em> and Bachelorette<\/em> leads Trista Sutter<\/strong>, Clayton Echard<\/strong>, Ben Higgins<\/strong> and Jason\u2019s former fianc\u00e9e, Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/strong>, who all revealed they did not discuss finances during their fantast dates. However, season 24 lead, Peter Weber<\/strong>, admitted he did.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was also interesting to hear if they knew then what they know now, and many of those leads said they wish they did have the conversation about that,\u201d Jason said about the former ABC reality stars.<\/p>\n The Buffalo, New York, native revealed he told friend and Bachelor<\/em> season 28 lead Joey Graziadei<\/strong> to make sure he broached the subject with his finalists.<\/p>\n \u201cJoey is such a great guy. I got to know Joey before the show, and of course, we\u2019re still really good friends<\/a>,\u201d Jason told Us<\/em> about the former tennis instructor. \u201cWhen it comes to finances and career and all that, before the show, I said, \u2018Make sure you\u2019re having those conversations.\u2019 I did say that, and then also currently I\u2019m like, \u2018Man, you are on fire. Make sure you get an accountant. Make sure you get your insurance. Go set up your LLCs because you\u2019re going to do some big things.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear if Joey, 28, took Jason\u2019s advice. He ultimately picked<\/a> junior project manager Kelsey Anderson<\/strong> in the show\u2019s finale, where the couple got engaged.<\/p>\n Jason, who appeared on Becca Kufrin<\/strong>\u2018s season of The Bachelorette<\/em>, got engaged to Kaitlyn, 38, in May 2021 after moving in together in May 2019. In his book, Jason said the two \u201cnever had a candid conversation<\/a>\u201d about money before they began living together. Jason claimed the former couple had \u201czero plan in place\u201d about how they would split the bills once he moved into her home.<\/p>\n The pair announced their split<\/a> on August 6, 2023, and Jason later moved out of her house<\/a>. Kaitlyn revealed in an August 15, 2023, episode of her \u201cOff the Vine\u201d podcast that he was living \u201cdown the street\u201d from her in Nashville.<\/p>\n \u201cI think people assume if people break up, something bad happened. And I think that\u2019s the hardest part of this whole breakup \u2014 nothing bad happened. It\u2019s just been over time. We have both not made each other a priority. And this is what happens,\u201d she said of their split.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
