Rebel Wilson<\/strong><\/a> revealed that she lost her virginity when she was 35 in her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising<\/em>. However, she says she has no regrets about waiting.<\/p>\n \u201cNot everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager<\/span><\/a>,\u201d Rebel, 44, told <\/span>People<\/span><\/i><\/a> in an interview published on Wednesday, March 27. \u201cPeople can wait till they\u2019re ready or wait till they\u2019re a bit more mature.\u201d<\/p>\n The Pitch Perfect<\/em> star added that she hopes her experience can \u201cbe a positive message\u201d for others. \u201cYou obviously don\u2019t have to wait until you\u2019re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn\u2019t feel pressure as a young person<\/a>,\u201d Rebel said.<\/p>\n Rebel admitted she used to be \u201cembarrassed\u201d about being a virgin back when she was a teenager, while she even lied about when she did the deed. \u201cThere was one vague time, I think I told my best friend, \u2018Oh, yeah, I just did it\u2019 to just get it over with when I was like 23<\/a>,\u2019\u201d she shared. \u201cJust to really avoid the questions.\u201d<\/p>\n The Bridesmaids<\/em> actress said that the topic made her so uncomfortable that she would often \u201cleave the room\u201d when her friends would start discussing sex. \u201cAnd then the people that said, \u2018Oh, at 24, it\u2019s so late.\u2019 And then I\u2019m sitting here thinking, \u2018Oh my god, my number\u2019s 35. What the hell? I\u2019m going to look like the biggest loser<\/a>,\u2019\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n Rebel went on to reflect on her experiences when she was younger, stating she likely would have \u201cexplored\u201d her sexuality<\/a> more if she had been born two decades later.
