It’s a lot, like she somehow thinks that by having kids an older man that he’ll step up and be a better parent than a same-age partner because somehow age makes men better. There’s a vague sprinkling of shaming other women and some weirdness about feminism among all the purple prose and tone deafness.<\/p>\n
My husband isn\u2019t my partner. He\u2019s my mentor, my lover, and, only in certain contexts, my friend. I\u2019ll never forget it, how he showed me around our first place like he was introducing me to myself: This is the wine you\u2019ll drink, where you\u2019ll keep your clothes, we vacation here, this is the other language we\u2019ll speak, you\u2019ll learn it, and I did.<\/i><\/p>\n
