As Melania Trump<\/strong> has made abundantly obvious for some time now, appearing in public with her husband is not high on her list of<\/a> priorities<\/a>. Whether this is because she is too busy with other commitments; has developed a nut-like allergy to him and breaks out in hives if they\u2019re in the same room; or despises<\/a> the guy<\/a>, is not clear. But what is clear is that she\u2019s been conspicuously absent<\/a> from the campaign trail, leading people to wonder if she will ever campaign for her husband. The answer, apparently, is yes, but she\u2019s still deciding how much time she\u2019s willing to spend in his presence.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019ll definitely have a role, but in terms of what that is, I don\u2019t know,\u201d a person familiar with the matter told<\/a> CNN. \u201cIt is her decision on how much or how little she will be campaigning.\u201d Per the outlet, numerous sources stressed that \u201cthere is no indication of Melania Trump having a ramped-up role anytime soon, while also cautioning that at any point\u00a0she could make the decision to hit the trail of her own accord.\u201d A source close to Donald Trump<\/strong> said, \u201cShe is very selective and methodical in what she wants to do and how she presents herself. She is very decisive with these things and knows they have a lot of intended and unintended consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to CNN, the former first lady\u2019s role at this summer\u2019s Republican National Convention \u201chasn\u2019t quite been nailed down,\u201d and while she\u2019s expected to play some<\/em> part, her nonattendance thus far has raised many questions:<\/p>\n

It was her absence on Super Tuesday\u2014one of her husband\u2019s biggest nights so far of his campaign\u2014that raised eyebrows earlier this month.\u00a0She didn\u2019t appear at the campaign\u2019s victory event at the couple\u2019s Mar-a-Lago resort. \u201cThis was an amazing night, an amazing day\u2014it\u2019s been an incredible period of time in our country\u2019s history,\u201d Donald Trump said during his speech that night, later thanking his family. Donald Trump Jr.,<\/strong> Eric Trump,<\/strong> and Tiffany Trump<\/strong> were there.<\/p>\n

Melania Trump has made only two formal public appearances for her husband\u2019s reelection bid\u2014the kickoff of his campaign in November 2022 and just last week, when she appeared with him to vote in the Florida presidential primary. Afterward, while standing next to him speaking to reporters, the former first lady was asked when she [was] going to return to the campaign trail with her husband. \u201cStay tuned,\u201d she said with a smile.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In an interview with Megyn Kelly<\/strong> last year, the ex-president attributed his wife\u2019s absence on the campaign trail to her being a deep person with high self-esteem. \u201cI think part of the beauty is that mystery,\u201d he told Kelly. \u201cShe\u2019s introspective and she\u2019s confident; she doesn\u2019t need to be interviewed by you to get ripped apart for no reason.\u00a0She doesn\u2019t need to be out there. She\u2019s got confidence; she has a lot of self-confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
