Selling Sunset<\/em><\/a> alum Christine Quinn<\/strong><\/a> and husband Christian Richard<\/strong>\u2019s marriage has been rocky for some time now.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristine has felt controlled by Christian their whole relationship,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cHe never liked that her whole brand was about sex appeal and Christine would often have to lie about what partnerships or photoshoots she was doing so Christian wouldn\u2019t have a meltdown.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quinn, 35, and Richard made headlines earlier this month when Us<\/em> confirmed that Richard was arrested<\/a> and booked for assault with a deadly weapon. TMZ reported that Richard allegedly threw a bag of glass at Quinn, which missed her and hit the pair\u2019s two-year-old son, Christian.<\/p>\n

Richard was arrested for a second time<\/a> later that day for returning to Quinn\u2019s home, thereby violating the restraining order obtained against him after his initial arrest, law enforcement told the Daily Mail<\/em>. Richard\u00a0filed a restraining order request of his own<\/a> on Tuesday, March 26, claiming that he threw the bag at the wall, not at Quinn, and that the bag contained rags and paper towels, not glass.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSelling Sunset alum Christine Quinn met husband Christian Richard through a matchmaking mutual friend and work. \u201c[My friend was] like, \u2018Also, he\u2019s looking for a house.\u2019 And I was like: double bonus,\u201d Quinn recalled to Bustle in May 2020. \u201cHim and I had an amazing steak dinner and got to know each other, and we [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The insider tells Us<\/em> that Quinn \u201cplans to file for divorce very soon\u201d as \u201cthis is not the first time she has seen [Christian] lash out in an angry manner\u201d during their relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has felt unsafe for a while,\u201d the source says. \u201cIt has been toxic for several months and Christine has been in distress. \u2026 It is going to be a long messy road ahead of them, as they both have restraining orders and are not in agreement on plans with their son.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her restraining order request, Christine claimed that Richard \u201cfaked a suicide attempt<\/a> to see if I cared about him\u201d in September 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Christian] became angry at me, questioning why I needed to work, asserting that he was providing for everything,\u201d she alleged in court documents. \u201cThat night, in our hotel room, I watched [Christian] pour handfuls of pills [and] appear to shove them into his mouth, with pills flying out of his hands and spilling on the floor, and then tell me he was dying.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tA reality television career can be tough on a marriage, but few unscripted series have a higher divorce rate than Netflix\u2019s Selling Sunset franchise. Several stars of the real estate series have seen their marriages fall apart since the OG show\u2019s March 2019 debut. Chrishell Stause became the first victim of what some have called [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She continued: \u201cAfter what felt like an hour of [Christian] apparently falling in and out of consciousness and me being terrified, he suddenly appeared sober again and said, \u2018You passed the test, you really do love me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the request, Quinn claimed that Richard went on a \u201crampage\u201d<\/a> earlier this month when she told him she was dissatisfied with their relationship. She alleged that during the incident, Richard took \u201cdog feces\u201d out of a trash can, threw it at her and urinated on the floor.<\/p>\n

Despite the tumult in Christine\u2019s marriage, a second source told Us<\/em> that the reality star was \u201cin great spirits\u201d at the Xerjoff perfume launch party on Wednesday, March 27.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was all smiles and was happily taking several photos for photographers. She seemed unbothered and was in a great mood all night mingling and taking selfies with guests,\u201d the insider shared. \u201cChristine put on a brave face and was smiling and laughing throughout the night.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source added that Quinn\u2019s former Selling Sunset<\/em> costars Nicole Young<\/strong> and Davina Potratz<\/strong> \u201cwere there to support her\u201d at the event. (Quinn left the show after season 5 in 2022.)<\/p>\n
