Whoopi Goldberg<\/strong><\/a> went a little extra on the Wednesday, March 27, episode of The View<\/i><\/a> \u2014 as in, extraterrestrial.<\/p>\n

During a discussion with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire<\/i> star Kumail Nanjiani<\/strong><\/a>, The View <\/i>cohost Sunny Hostin<\/strong> asked the actor, 46, whether he believes in ghosts after filming the movie.<\/p>\n

While Nanjiani said, \u201cI don\u2019t believe in ghosts, I\u2019ve never had an encounter or anything,\u201d he did bring another intriguing idea to the roundtable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you what, I do believe in aliens,\u201d Nanjiani boasted. \u201cI think aliens are circling us, waiting for us to get it together so they can come on down. \u2026 I think they\u2019re waiting for us to clean up a little bit so that they can come here and tell us we\u2019re really messing things up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHumans have questioned the existence of life on other planets for centuries \u2014 including celebrities such as Demi Lovato, Tom DeLonge and Gigi Hadid.\u00a0 Lovato opened up about watching the 2020 documentary\u00a0Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind on the \u201cWild Ride! with Steve-O\u201d podcast in April of that year. The film explores the possibility of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That\u2019s when a soft-spoken Goldberg, 68, spoke up and said, \u201cThey\u2019re already here. They\u2019ve been here for quite some time.\u201d<\/p>\n

A surprised Nanjiani needed clarification, asking, \u201cYou think they\u2019re here? What are they doing?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re watching us,\u201d a very serious Goldberg responded.<\/p>\n

Hostin, 55, tried bringing some levity to the situation and joked, \u201cThey\u2019re talking to Whoopi.\u201d<\/p>\n

Given the nature of the conversation, cohost Sara Haines<\/strong> couldn\u2019t help but bring up Goldberg\u2019s Oscar-winning movie<\/a> to close out the wild conversation.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe talks to ghosts<\/i>, not aliens,\u201d Haines, 46, said. \u201cDuh, the movie was Ghost<\/i>, not Alien<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhoopi Goldberg has made headlines for her controversial remarks just as often as she has for her storied, EGOT-winning career. The View cohost found herself in hot water throughout 2022 after making antisemitic comments about the Holocaust that led to a two-week suspension from the long-running ABC talk show in February. The Ghost star, who [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Goldberg brought up her belief in aliens. Back in 2023, Goldberg said she already \u201cknew\u201d about their existence before a congressional hearing on UFOs and aliens claimed the U.S. government recovered \u201cnonhuman\u201d remains from space objects.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know why everybody else is so surprised. We\u2019re not the only ones in the universe. We\u2019re just not,\u201d Goldberg explained. \u201cThere are more things in heaven and Earth that we are aware of, and we have to be aware of, because that is the nature of being an earthling. It\u2019s going to happen, it has happened, and, so far, we\u2019re alright.\u201d<\/p>\n
