Eric Dane<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Cal Jacobs on Euphoria<\/em><\/a>, previously explained what goes into working on such a vulnerable part of the project.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThose scenes are very difficult to shoot. It helps to have one voice in your ear. One voice that you can express your feelings to, and somebody that is an advocate for the actors,\u201d the Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> <\/a>alum explained to Entertainment Weekly<\/em> in June 2019. \u201cIt just simplifies a lot of things and makes for a safe and comfortable environment while shooting something that is fairly uncomfortable to shoot. And certainly, the stuff that we did in the pilot is no exception. It\u2019s a pretty intense scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the pilot episode, Cal is seen meeting up with an underage Jules (Hunter Schafer<\/strong><\/a>) after talking on a dating app. Even though Jacobs wasn\u2019t opposed to nudity<\/a>, he explained that it was a group decision for him to wear a prosthetic penis instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m willing to do anything that\u2019s critical to the story and crucial to creating a very real and truthful feel to how the story is gonna go down,\u201d he added at the time. \u201cI just don\u2019t see how you shoot a scene like that without showing nudity. And, you know, it kind of matches the stakes. The stakes are so high, you can\u2019t hold anything back, really.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the second season of the HBO Max series<\/a>, Cal exposed himself again after revealing his sexuality to his family<\/a>. He ended up urinating all over his foyer \u2014 another scene that Dane wore a prosthetic for.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very freeing to do a monologue with your penis out,\u201d he joked to Men\u2019s Health<\/em> in January 2022 about the shocking moment. \u201cI hope everybody becomes a bit more comfortable with their appendages after this show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Dane\u2019s TV son Jacob Elordi also weighed in having to strip down for some very graphic Euphoria<\/em> sex scenes.<\/a><\/p>\n

If the project and the scenes call for it, why not?” Perez told Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> in February 2022. “But I think just to throw a bare-chested woman or ass-out guy into the scene without it making sense, then it’s gratuitous and takes away from the quality of the content.”<\/p>\n

Stan\u2019s character has an entire conversation with his penis, voiced by Jason Mantzoukas<\/strong>. The prosthetic was mechanical and required two puppeteers.<\/p>\n

Costume designer Kameron Lennox noted that the Marvel actor also required prosthetics when his character walks around in a silk G-string, but the typical prosthetics created to be on camera didn’t look great in costume.<\/p>\n

“His prosthetic was so big that once you put it in the G-string it looks like he’s got serious health problems,\u201d Lennox told Thrillist<\/a><\/em>. A \u201cgarment penis\u201d was made by special makeup effects designer Jason Collins and his company Autonomous FX for clothed scenes, and Lennox also used “packers” (a type of stuffing) for different scenes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
