The singer, 41, filed for divorce from Brandon \u2013 with whom she has daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington Alexander, seven \u2013 in June 2020 after seven years of marriage, and even though they finally settled their split in March 2022 after two years of court battles they have since been locked in more bitter legal disputes.<\/p>\n

But a source told People about how \u2018The Kelly Clarkson<\/a> Show\u2019 host is still managing to stay upbeat: \u201cShe is doing really well. She is happy that she left LA for New York. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe has the primary custody of the kids and is a great mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The insider added even though Kelly \u201cloves working\u201d, the children \u201care her world\u201d and she\u2019s a \u201cvery hands-on and fun\u201d mum.<\/p>\n

\nAfter Kelly and TV producer Brandon, 47, finalised their divorce in 2022, the singer was ordered to give her ex a one-time payment of $1.3 million, plus $150,000 per month in spousal support and $45,601 a month in child maintenance.<\/p>\n

\nKelly sued Brandon last month, accusing him and his dad Narvel Balckstock\u2019s management company Starstruck Entertainment of violating California labour laws, specifically the Talent Agencies Act, by acting as an \u201cunlicensed talent agency\u201d that booked business deals on her behalf as far back as 2007.<\/p>\n

\nShe admitted last year on DJ Zane Lowe\u2019s Apple Music show she \u201cdid not handle (the divorce) well\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nKelly added: \u201cI don\u2019t know how people get through anything like that because I\u2019m not going to say I did it gracefully. Behind closed doors by myself, it was not,\u201d she said, admitting she tried to put on a happy face.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nShe admitted to regularly \u201ccrying so hard\u201d she \u201ccouldn\u2019t even speak\u201d amid the collapse of her marriage.<\/p>\n

\nKelly has also told how she stayed in her marriage longer than she should have as she didn\u2019t want to feel like a failure.<\/p>\n

\nShe told the \u2018We Can Do Hard Things\u2019 podcast: \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018I can do this. I can handle so much. I can control my actions. I can control my reactions. I can do this and I can reach this person and I can get through.\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\u201cAnd it becomes a little bit of your ego that gets in the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
