The actress, 50, gave fans a look at the new inking by posting a black and white shot of it on her upper arm, which showed a design of a bird and a message directed at \u201cMy KB\u201d.<\/p>\n
She tagged West Hollywood tattoo artist Endry Stymest in the image, and <\/p>\n
even though she did not go into detail about its meaning on her Instagram Story message about the design, she did share a caption about heading \u201coff to a mythical land where people don\u2019t say dumb (rubbish) like \u2018it was their time\u2019 in response to grief.\u201d<\/p>\n
The post came after Kate also used Instagram to pay tribute to her late dad, \u2018Porridge\u2019 actor Richard Beckinsale, who was only 31 when he died in 1979 of a heart attack.<\/p>\n
\nShe marked his passing by sharing a series of throwback pictures of the actor, with the caption: \u201cOh. The day you died comes round so suddenly even when I\u2019m expecting it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThis is my first year without any father figure at all for a long long time. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cHow I miss you. How familiar this falling through an abyss. How horribly like home falling with no one to catch you feels. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI hope your energies have met. I\u2019m so grateful to have had your love. I feel it, like an echo. X\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKate\u2019s stepfather Roy Battersby also died at age 87 on 10 January.<\/p>\n
\nIt is unclear if the actress\u2019 shot of her new tattoo was taken while she was in her hospital bed, but it may have been as it shows her stretching out her limb on what appears to be a white bedsheet.<\/p>\n
\nShe first revealed she had been admitted to hospital while sharing an Instagram post marking Mother\u2019s Day in the UK on 10 March, and her mom Judy\u2019s belated birthday on 11 March.<\/p>\n
\nBut she has not yet revealed why she is getting treatment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
