Her daughter, Ellie Dobrosky, has just welcomed her first child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn Albert Dobrosky was born on his due date, Saturday, March 23rd at 8:23 am, just shy of seven pounds,\u201d Couric began her caption.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will be called Jay in honor of his maternal grandfather,\u201d she explained. \u201cAlbert is after Mark\u2019s paternal grandfather.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C46kHotvb08\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>\u201cMom and Dad (Ellie and Mark) are over the moon (it was a full moon),\u201d Katie Couric continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to have my first grandchild,\u201d she gushed.<\/p>\n<p>Couric continued: Carrie can\u2019t wait to be a cool Aunt and Molner is enjoying handing out cigars. Jay was like that. The simple piece of beaded jewelry was for her to wear to a Taylor Swift concert.<\/p>\n<p>It turned out to be a pregnancy announcement (Taylor\u2019s Version). She had both children with her first husband, Jay Monahan.<\/p>\n<p>She married Jay in 1989. He passed away in 1998. Well over a decade later, in 2014, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2014\/06\/katie-couric-and-john-molner-married\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Couric remarried to John Molner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ellie became engaged to Mark Doborsky back in February of 2019. The couple married two years later.
