Ryan Gosling<\/strong><\/a> and Eva Mendes<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 relationship is reportedly \u201changing on by a thread\u201d as the couple of 13 years lead \u201cseparate\u201d lives. Eva\u2019s absence from the audience at the 2024 Oscars during the Barbie<\/em> actor\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken\u201d performance on March 10 was just the latest example.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople were surprised Eva wasn\u2019t by Ryan\u2019s side,\u201d a source told In Touch<\/em><\/a> on Thursday, March 21. \u201cIt was a huge evening for him, and she was nowhere to be found.\u201d<\/p>\n Ryan, 43, walked the red carpet that night and attended the awards show with sister Mandi Gosling<\/strong><\/a>, mom Donna Gosling<\/strong> and stepdad Valerio Attanasio<\/strong>. Meanwhile, Eva, 50, revealed via Instagram that she was hanging out backstage<\/a> by Ryan\u2019s dressing room, forgoing the event\u2019s formal attire in favor of a casual denim skirt, a loose white blouse, a denim jacket and a black baseball cap.<\/p>\n \u201cAlways by my man,\u201d she wrote in the caption. However, the source said that may not be the case.<\/p>\n \u201cRyan and Eva don\u2019t like to go to events together, but the Oscars were different,\u201d the insider explained to In Touch<\/em>. \u201cIt just goes to show how separate their lives are.\u201d<\/p>\n The source added that Ryan and Eva, who were rumored to have quietly tied the knot in 2022<\/a>, are struggling with \u201cjealousy.\u201d In particular, the insider claimed that Eva feels \u201cresentful\u201d because she put her acting career on hold<\/a> in 2012 to care for their two children, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.<\/p>\n \u201cEva has given up a lot to support Ryan and be a hands-on mother to their two daughters,\u201d the source said. \u201cRyan goes to set and enjoys his work and interacts with his colleagues, while she\u2019s sitting home caring for their kids with no other social life.\u201d<\/p>\n The insider later added, \u201cIt hasn\u2019t been easy for her to be the primary parent as Ryan pursues so many acting roles. She adores being a mother and supporting Ryan, but that doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s not difficult at times.\u201d<\/p>\n Ultimately, the source said it was Ryan\u2019s decision for their relationship to be so notoriously private. Eva, on the other hand, would like a little more freedom to show their romance off. \u201cEva accepted Ryan\u2019s wishes, and she loves him, but it\u2019s not typical for her personality [to be so private],\u201d the source explained. \u201cShe\u2019d like to be a little more public with their relationship, because people truly sometimes forget he has a wife and children!\u201d<\/p>\n Additionally, the source said Ryan and Eva have argued over her wanting to move out of Hollywood and him wanting more kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cRyan has brought up having another child, but that led to another fight between them, because Eva doesn\u2019t want one,\u201d the insider shared. \u201cEva\u2019s decision on baby No. 3 might be the final straw; they could break up over it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
