The \u2018Happy Days\u2019 actor-turned-director, 70, has spent years making some of Hollywood\u2019s biggest blockbusters including \u2018Splash\u2019, \u2018Cocoon\u2019, \u2018Backdraft\u2019 and \u2018Apollo 13\u2019, but said he doesn\u2019t like to dwell on his achievements.<\/p>\n

He told People: \u201cFrankly, I don\u2019t go back and watch my movies, so it\u2019s been a long time since I\u2019ve seen \u2018Splash\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Ron said about the beloved 1984 comedy, which starred Daryl Hannah<\/a> as a mermaid discovered by Tom Hanks: \u201cMaking the movie was so much fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just laughed every day. It was such a buoyant, romantic, funny combination of story values and situations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nRon\u2019s career started in acting, with him first playing Opie on \u2018The Andy Griffith Show\u2019 before his breakout role of Richie Cunningham in ABC\u2019s \u2018Happy Days\u2019 sitcom throughout the 1970s.<\/p>\n

\nAfter he made \u2018Splash\u2019, Ron also turned out \u2018A Beautiful Mind\u2019 and 1991\u2019s critically-acclaimed \u2018Backdraft\u2019, starring Robert DeNiro, Kurt Russell and William Baldwin.<\/p>\n

\nHe hasn\u2019t acted for years \u2013 aside from taking a part narrator of the 2003 sitcom \u2018Arrested Development\u2019 \u2013 but admitted he could be persuaded to get back in front of the camera.<\/p>\n

\nHe said on Variety\u2019s \u2018Awards Circuit\u2019 podcast in 2022 his actress daughter Bryce Dallas Howard, 43, could \u201cprobably\u201d could convince him to take another acting part if it was in a film she was making.<\/p>\n

\nRon added: \u201cIt would probably be Bryce directing something and saying, \u2018Dad, I really need you to come in and do this,\u2019 or. \u2018You have to.\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\u201cEither of those would probably get me in the make-up chair and in front of the camera.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
