Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company founded by ex-OpenAI employees, has launched its AI chatbot, Claude<\/a>. While the tool does much of what OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT can, Anthropic says<\/a> its early clients report the tool\u2019s \u201cless likely to produce harmful outputs\u201d and is \u201ceasier to converse with.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Like OpenAI, Anthropic also has big tech backing: Google invested $300 million into Anthropic<\/a> in February. The company\u2019s chatbot \u2014 similar to ChatGPT \u2014 can provide summaries, answer questions, provide assistance with writing, and generate code. You can also tweak the chatbot\u2019s tone, personality, and behavior, which sounds a bit more comprehensive than the \u201ccreative, balanced, and precise\u201d settings Bing\u2019s chatbot offers<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Overall, the goal of Anthropic is to develop an AI assistant that\u2019s \u201chelpful, honest, and harmless.\u201d It also has no ability to access the internet, as Anthropic says it\u2019s designed to be \u201cself-contained.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
