Princess Catherine<\/strong><\/a> (aka Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a>) is speaking out about her health following weeks of speculation and public concern, and she revealed that she\u2019d been diagnosed with cancer. <\/p>\n On Friday (March 22), the 42-year-old Princess of Wales issued a recorded public statement on social media revealing that the cancer was found after she underwent a \u201cmajor abdominal surgery\u201d earlier this year. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAt the time it was thought that my condition was noncancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,\u201d she said. Her medical team recommended \u201ca course of preventative chemotherapy,\u201d and she is \u201cin the early stages of that treatment.\u201d <\/p>\n She said, \u201cIt has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I\u2019ve had a fantastic medical team who\u2019ve taken great care of me.\u201d<\/p>\n The Princess assured everyone that she was getting stronger but was taking time to recover. She added that, \u201cIt has taken us time to explain everything to George<\/strong>, Charlotte <\/strong>and Louis <\/strong>[her children] in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I\u2019m going to be ok. As I\u2019ve said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis of course came as a huge shock, and William <\/strong>and I have been been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,\u201d she said, asking for privacy at this time. <\/p>\n Princess Catherine<\/strong> thanked her family and everyone for the support that she\u2019s received. <\/p>\n \u201cWe hope that you\u2019ll understand that as a family we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,\u201d she said, adding that she\u2019d return to work when she was able.<\/p>\n If you were unaware, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales has largely been out of the public eye since undergoing what was described as a \u201cplanned abdominal surgery.\u201d<\/a> Despite assurances that all was well, fans of the Royal Family became concerned as she remained out of the spotlight. <\/p>\n Conspiracy theories grew after she shared a family photo<\/a> in March that was found to have been Photoshopped<\/a>.
