Sin\u00e9ad O’Connor<\/a>\u2019s daughter, Roisin Waters, is keeping her mother\u2019s memory alive.<\/span><\/p>\n On Wednesday, the 28-year-old honored her late mom with a touching rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U” during a tribute concert held in New York City for O\u2019Connor and fellow Irish singer\u00a0<\/span>Shane MacGowan<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n In a video <\/span>posted to YouTube<\/a> by a fan in attendance, Waters walks barefoot around the stage at Carnegie Hall and wearing a slip dress as she belts out her mom\u2019s hit from the early 1990s. Since being posted late Wednesday evening, the video has amassed 25,000 views and dozens of comments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Thank you dear Roisin. That was SO beautiful and tender and powerful. May all angels hold you and your sibs in close embrace,” one commenter wrote.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “What a beautiful lady and beautiful voice just like her mom,” another shared.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The crowd at the event seemingly agreed with the online viewers’ takes as they cheered and hollered for Waters’ cover of her mom’s song while singing along.<\/span><\/p>\n O’Connor <\/span>died in July<\/a> at the age of 56.<\/span><\/p>\n “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sin\u00e9ad,” her family confirmed in a\u00a0<\/span>statement to RTE<\/a>\u00a0at the time. “Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”<\/span><\/p>\n In January, ET confirmed with the\u00a0London Inner South Coroner’s Court that the singer <\/span>died from natural causes<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n MacGowan, who was also honored during the Carnegie Hall concert on Wednesday, was best known as the frontman of The Pogues. He died in November from pneumonia at the age of 65.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The concert also featured covers of O’Connor’s “I Do Not Want What I Haven\u2019t Got” by Bettye LaVette, while The Pogues’ hit “The Body of an American” was sung by Cat Power. Other singers included the Resistance Revival Chorus, Hansard and Imelda May, Billy Bragg, Gordon Gano, Dropkick Murphys, Gogol Bordello’s Eugene H\u00fctz, The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and The Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle.<\/span><\/p>\n
