The Fall Guy<\/em> star Aaron Taylor-Johnson<\/strong><\/a> couldn\u2019t be happier in his marriage to wife Sam Taylor-Johnson<\/strong>, despite what critics have to say about their age gap.<\/p>\n

The actor, 33, met Sam, 57, when she directed him in the 2009 John Lennon<\/strong> biopic Nowhere Boy<\/em>, and the couple wed in 2012. With more than two decades between them, their relationship has frequently come under public scrutiny.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you gotta realize is that what most people were doing in their twenties, I was doing when I was 13,\u201d Aaron revealed in his April\/May 2024 Rolling Stone<\/em> UK<\/em><\/a> cover story.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the backlash, he continued, \u201cYou\u2019re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don\u2019t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It\u2019s bizarre to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAaron Taylor-Johnson and Sam Taylor-Johnson have defended their relationship \u2014 and their age gap \u2014 through the years. The couple originally met when Aaron auditioned for Sam\u2019s directional debut, Nowhere Boy. According to Sam, her now-husband didn\u2019t have much availability due to his Kick-Ass filming schedule, so he auditioned at her home. \u201cIt was so [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The star, who is rumored to be the next James Bond<\/a>, lives on a farm in Somerset, England, with his wife, with whom he shares \u201cfour gorgeous daughters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aaron sang his partner\u2019s praises in the candid interview, calling her \u201ca great filmmaker and a wonderful storyteller.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople will think there\u2019s sort of a bias to me saying it, but I think when they see Back to Black<\/em> [her upcoming Amy Winehouse<\/strong> biopic], everyone\u2019s going to realize how fantastic a filmmaker she is,\u201d he enthused.<\/p>\n

Along with Nowhere Boy<\/em>, the couple worked together<\/a> on the 2019 film A Million Little Pieces<\/em>. \u201cThere\u2019s a protectiveness that I feel; I think it\u2019s really difficult,\u201d he admitted of their onscreen collaborations. \u201cThere\u2019s also part of me that feels like if something didn\u2019t work, I\u2019m the one that\u2019s responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n
