This James Bond news has us shaken and<\/i> stirred.<\/p>\n

Aaron Taylor-Johnson<\/strong><\/a> is reportedly set to take over the role of James Bond, according to The Sun<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Taylor-Johnson, 33, best known for his roles in movies like 2010\u2019s Kick-Ass<\/i> and 2022\u2019s Bullet Train<\/i><\/a>, reportedly has a \u201cformal offer,\u201d which the actor is expected to sign in the coming days.<\/p>\n

Production on the next Bond installment is set to begin later this year.<\/p>\n

If the paperwork goes through, Taylor-Johnson will take over the iconic role from Daniel Craig<\/strong><\/a>, who played Bond in five films over the course of 15 years. Craig, 56, last appeared as 007 in 2021\u2019s No Time to Die<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The Sun<\/i> reported Taylor-Johnson was in the running alongside some high-caliber competition, including recent Oscar winner Cillian Murphy<\/strong>, Idris Elba<\/strong>, Henry Cavill<\/strong> and Happy Valley<\/i> star James Norton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Just last week, Taylor-Johnson was asked about the possibility of playing Bond, which has been rumored since Craig announced his departure.<\/p>\n

The popular action film franchise is based on a character created by author Ian Fleming for his James Bond book series. EON Productions gained the rights to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role,\u201d he told Numero<\/i><\/a> in an interview published March 13. \u201cI take it as a great compliment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor-Johnson, who also won a Golden Globe<\/a> for his performance in 2016\u2019s Nocturnal Animals<\/i>, can next be seen in May\u2019s The Fall Guy<\/i>, alongside Ryan Gosling<\/strong> and Emily Blunt<\/strong>, and August\u2019s Kraven the Hunter<\/i>, where he plays the titular superhero.<\/p>\n

As for Craig, who first played Bond in 2006\u2019s Casino Royale<\/i>, he expressed that he didn\u2019t have any regrets about leaving the franchise behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, none at all,\u201d Craig said on BBC Radio 4\u2019s \u201cBest of Today\u201d podcast in December 2022. \u201cI had an incredibly fortunate 17 years of my life making this. I literally want to spend the next 20 years of my life trying to unhook it all and try and put it into a place because it was incredible. I left it where I wanted it to be. And that I was given the chance to do that with the last movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
