Just two legendary Hollywood personalities hanging out and taking in a show written by one of Broadway\u2019s most celebrated minds, starring some of theater\u2019s biggest stars. Meryl Streep<\/strong> and Martin Short<\/strong> invite you to move along or, perhaps, roll along. Only good buddies and co-stars who like a night out on the town in the building here.\u00a0<\/p>\n Streep and Short, who have been the subject of speculation about whether they\u2019re romantically involved since they were spotted enjoying some nice conversation<\/a> at the Golden Globes 2024 in January, headed to the Great White Way Saturday to see the hit revival of Stephen Sondheim\u2019s musical Merrily We Roll Along<\/em>. Daniel Radcliffe<\/strong>, Jonathan Groff<\/strong>, and Lindsay Mendez<\/strong> star in the critically lauded show<\/a>. Streep and Short, who also co-starred on season three of Hulu\u2019s Only Murders in the Building<\/em>, and will reunite in the show\u2019s fourth season<\/a>, have said through representatives that they are \u201cjust very good friends,\u201d and Short himself told Bill Maher<\/strong> loud and clear in late January<\/a>, \u201cwe\u2019re not a couple.\u201d<\/p>\n The two stars sat together during the show at the Hudson Theater, and afterwards went backstage to meet the cast and have an impromptu singalong of \u201cOld Friends,\u201d captured by some of the cast members<\/a> and shared on social media.<\/p>\n Their friendship is bicoastal: Last month, the pair were spotted leaving dinner<\/a> in a group of friends in Santa Monica, California. Despite the repeated statements to the contrary, speculation about whether Streep and Short are more than just friends continues to swirl amidst sightings of the two together.\u00a0<\/p>\n
