The duo attempt to start fresh after his father\u2019s sudden death but Norman\u2019s deteriorating mental health causes complications.<\/p>\n<p>The final season of the show loosely followed the plot of <em>Psycho<\/em>, which introduced Norman as an adult running the motel while secretly keeping his mother\u2019s remains on the property. <em>Bates Motel<\/em> expanded on the world of <em>Psycho<\/em> by introducing new characters<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/most-memorable-tv-siblings-through-the-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> such as Norman\u2019s half-brother, Dylan<\/a> (Thieriot), his best friend Emma (Cooke) and a love interest for Norma a.k.a Sheriff Alex Romero (<strong>N\u00e9stor Carbonell<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<div id=\"news-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form  \">\n<div class=\"newsletter-signup__success\">\n<h3>Thank You!<\/h3>\n<p>You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>After the finale, Highmore weighed in on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/creepy-horror-movie-kids-where-are-they-now-daveigh-chase-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a possible reunion in the future<\/a>, telling <em>TVLine<\/em> in 2017, \u201cThere\u2019s no hope of coming back for another season or convincing people that we can just do a few more episodes at some point in the future [since Norman was killed at the end]. I\u2019m not sure what the Christmas reunion would look like.
