\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Kim Petras<\/strong><\/a> and Sam Smith<\/strong><\/a> dominated the charts together with \u201cUnholy\u201d last year, but their relationship runs much deeper than a simple collaboration in the studio. <\/p>\n For the 31-year-old Feed the Beast<\/em> popstar, \u201cUnholy\u201d was a historic song that earned her a Grammy<\/a> and her first No. 1 on multiple charts. <\/p>\n In a new interview, she addressed the extra attention (and political outrage<\/a>) that the song sparked and how it affected her personally and professionally. One thing that Kim<\/strong> made clear is that Sam<\/strong> was at her side through it all. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK<\/a>, Kim <\/strong>described her experience, especially winning at the Grammys, as \u201ca huge honor.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cBut nothing can prepare you for that level of attention. It felt exposing and scary. Suddenly, a lot of people who wouldn\u2019t usually listen to my music were digging up my origin story,\u201d she recalled. <\/p>\n Kim<\/strong> added that the newfound success \u201ctook over [her] life,\u201d leading to a very full schedule that she had to adjust to. While that was good, it also led to some struggles that she had to work through. <\/p>\n \u201cTherapy was also necessary for me after having a huge song, to learn how to shut everything off,\u201d Kim<\/strong> explained. \u201cI had therapy in my teen years and stopped when things got busy. But I missed having someone to let everything out to. I recommend therapy to everyone; it\u2019s an essential tool\u2026 The music industry can get very hectic.\u201d<\/p>\n Through it all, Sam<\/strong> made Kim<\/strong> feel supported. <\/p>\n \u201cSam<\/strong>\u2018s such a wonderful person, and has been my coach in a lot of ways. If I feel in a crisis, or read something about myself that I can\u2019t deal with, I\u2019ll text or call them.
