A new report from CNN alleges that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has expressed support for bizarre conspiracy theories about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting.<\/p>\n

Journalists Jake Tapper and Pamela Brown reported this week that in \u201cprivate conversations,\u201d Rodgers shared his belief that the shooting \u2014 which claimed the lives of 26 people, many of them young children \u2014 was a hoax.<\/p>\n

The conspiracy theory has gained popularity among far-rightwing extremists in recent years, thanks largely to its endorsement by political commentator Alex Jones.<\/p>\n

Rodgers has been receiving a good deal of attention in political circles this week thanks to reports that presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering the QB as his running mate.<\/p>\n
