The traditional way to earn elite status \u2014 by flying on the airline \u2014 has been revamped as part of the program\u2019s overhaul.<\/p>\n

Now, you\u2019ll earn 1 Loyalty Point for each redeemable AAdvantage mile from flying on American. Depending on your status tier, redeemable miles are awarded at a multiplier between 5 times and 11 times your base ticket price.<\/p>\n
