Marvel Studios has fired Beau DeMayo, the creator of the upcoming animated Disney Plus series X-Men \u201997, <\/em>according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. De Mayo previously produced and wrote for another Marvel show, Moon Knight<\/em>, <\/em>and has also worked on The Witcher<\/em>, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf<\/em>, <\/em>and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. <\/em>The firing reportedly occurred early last week, and neither Marvel nor DeMayo\u2019s representatives commented on the decision to the outlet.\u00a0Marvel has also not responded to The Verge<\/em>\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The timing of DeMayo\u2019s departure is unusual, given that X-Men \u201997<\/em> is set to premiere on Disney Plus roughly a week from now, on March 20th. DeMayo is credited as the creator and executive producer<\/a> of the show\u2019s entire first season. He had even finished writing duties on an upcoming second season of X-Men \u201997<\/em> and was in talks with his team about a third, THR<\/em> reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n X-Men \u201997<\/em> continues the storyline of X-Men: The Animated Series<\/em>, which aired from 1992 to 1997.
