\u201c\u2018We need to talk\u2019 can mean a lot of things. Normally, it\u2019s not great. Nobody, including Joey or myself, had any idea where this was going,\u201d Palmer, 45, teased to Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, March 12.<\/p>\n

At the end of the Monday, March 11, episode<\/a> of the The Bachelor<\/em>, viewers watched as Kelsey, 25, spiraled while Joey, 28, had his fantasy suite date with Daisy Kent<\/strong>. (She started to worry that she wasn\u2019t The One after a conversation with Golden Bachelor<\/em> runner-up Leslie Fhima<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s, like, a conversation that needs to be had before going into the rose ceremony. It is more pressing now than later,\u201d Kelsey told the camera. \u201cI don\u2019t want to blindside Joey, ever. I just want to be honest and I want to be able to tell him everything that\u2019s on my mind. I would rather leave now than have my heart completely broken.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a one-on-one date with Bachelor Joey Graziadei in Spain, which aired in February 2024, Kelsey shared that her mom died in 2018 after a battle with breast cancer. Kelsey decided to ask Joey for a conversation via a letter, with security camera footage showing her sticking the note in his hotel room door. After returning from his date with Daisy, Joey received the message \u2014 and began a downfall of his own.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t expect to see a note on my door. \u2026 Usually when someone writes, \u2018We need to talk,\u2019 it\u2019s scary and you think it could be, \u2018Something went wrong,\u2019\u201d Joey said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t understand what could\u2019ve went wrong because I haven\u2019t said anything to her. This would derail everything. \u2026 This is, like, my worst nightmare coming true. I\u2019m over giving everything I can and feeling like they aren\u2019t choosing me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The episode left on a cliffhanger, with unanswered questions about why Kelsey wanted to chat, and which of his remaining three contestants \u2014 Kelsey, Daisy and Rachel Nance<\/strong> \u2014 would be in the final two.<\/p>\n

During Kelsey and Joey\u2019s fantasy suite date, she dropped the L-word to him, to which he replied, \u201cI\u2019m falling in love with you, fully.\u201d Joey noted that he had been feeling that way toward Kelsey \u201cfor a very long time,\u201d and he exclusively gave more details<\/a> about the timeline to Us Weekly<\/em>.<\/p>\n
