\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Priyanka Chopra<\/strong><\/a> is pretty in pink during a special appearance at the 2023 SXSW Festival<\/em> in Austin, Texas, on Friday (March 10).<\/p>\n The 40-year-old actress spoke to Amazon Studios\u2019 Jennifer Salke<\/strong> during the event, which kicked off the festivities, and opened up about how Citadel<\/em>, was the first time she\u2019s been paid the same as her male co-star.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been working in the entertainment industry for now 22 years, and I have done about almost 70-plus features and two TV shows,\u201d Priyanka <\/strong>shared on stage, via THR<\/a>. \u201cBut when I did Citadel<\/em>, it was the first time in my career that I had pay parity.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on, saying that while she laughs at it, it is \u201ckind of nuts. I put in the same amount of investment and work, but I get paid much less. But the ease in which Amazon Studios said, \u2018That\u2019s what you deserve, you are co-leads, that\u2019s just fair,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018You\u2019re right, it\u2019s fair.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Priyanka<\/strong> added, \u201cAnd I wonder: Did that happen because there are very few female decision-makers in Hollywood? Would that have been a different conversation if a woman didn\u2019t make that decision?
