Melissa Rivers<\/b><\/a> admits there were some fashion hits and misses during the 2024 <\/span>Academy Awards<\/span><\/a> red carpet in an exclusive interview with Life & Style.<\/p>\n After explaining she \u201cdid not love\u201d Ariana Grande<\/b><\/a>\u2019s pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown <\/span>during the event<\/span><\/a> on Sunday, March 10, Melissa, 56, says that the ensemble was \u201ctoo much of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cToo pink, too much with the coat. Too much. Too much. Too much. If she had picked one, I think she would\u2019ve been a home run,\u201d Melissa continues before sharing some constructive criticism<\/a> for Ariana, 30. \u201cBut even just the fact that it was all that bubblegum pink \u2026 Imagine if the dress had been black and the coat had been pink, or the coat had been black and the dress pink. I love a good coat for an entrance for the drama, and it was just too much<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite not being a fan of the \u201c7 Rings\u201d singer\u2019s look, Melissa shares that she \u201cloved\u201d Billie Eilish<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s Chanel black-and-white plaid knee-length skirt, white collared shirt and fitted blazer.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was very her. She looked comfortable<\/span><\/a>,\u201d the New York City native says about Billie, 22. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t look comfortable when she\u2019s in a gown or a big thing. And also, she\u2019s a musician. She can pull that off.\u201d Melissa adds, \u201cI would\u2019ve been very <\/span>uncomfortable seeing her in some major gown<\/span><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n She says that Billie\u2019s brother, Finneas O\u2019Connell<\/strong>, \u201clooked phenomenal and traditional\u201d in a bow tie and jacket, noting that the other men at the awards show should take notes from the musician.<\/p>\n After actors like Ryan Gosling<\/b><\/a> and<\/span> Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson<\/b><\/a> opted to not wear ties, Melissa insists that the awards show was not the right occasion to skip the accessory. \u201cIf I see one more man not wearing a tie tonight, I\u2019m going to have to do something very dramatic<\/a>,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s the f\u2013king Oscars, put on a tie. You guys are not all that cool. I\u2019m sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n Melissa explains that the men need to stop trying to be \u201csuper cool\u201d and should treat the Oscars like going to \u201cyour grandparents\u2019 house who are incredibly wealthy, older, formal and haven\u2019t put you in the will yet.\u201d She advises the men to \u201ccover the tattoos\u201d and \u201cput on a tie.\u201d<\/p>\n After noting that Bradley Cooper<\/strong> was one of the best dressed men at the awards show, she went on to compliment America Ferrera, Emma Stone<\/strong> and Anya Taylor-Joy<\/strong> as the women that stood out in a positive way<\/a>. However, Melissa points out that the 2024 awards show was \u201cthe night of the necklace.\u201d<\/p>\n She says that Emily Blunt<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 who wore Tiffany & Co. jewelry \u2013 had the best necklace of the evening. \u201cShe\u2019s in that very, very architectural dress that stood away from her body,\u201d Melissa says about the Oppenheimer<\/em> actress, 41. \u201cBut I couldn\u2019t get past the necklace.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI thought Emma Stone\u2019s was beautiful and Florence Pugh<\/strong> \u2013 I think it was Bulgari \u2013 that snake love,\u201d she says about the accessories on the red carpet. \u201cEmily Blunt won the necklace competition<\/a> and very close was Emma right behind \u2026 There were so many good necklaces.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n![\"Melissa](\"https:\/\/www.lifeandstylemag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/billie-eilish-oscars-red-carpet.jpg?fit=400%2C602&quality=86&strip=all\")
