Billie Eilish<\/a>‘s Oscars performance made one thing is clear: She’s made for the stage!<\/span><\/p>\n The nine-time GRAMMY-winning singer <\/span>serenaded the audience — and fans around the world — with her hit rendition<\/a> of <\/span>the Oscar-nominated “What Was I Made For?”<\/a> at the 2024 ceremony on Sunday in Los Angeles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Joined by her brother, Finneas\u00a0O’Connell — who also co-wrote the emotional ballad — Eilish wore a tweed suit as she stood in front of a microphone and delivered the tune in her signature falsetto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Making the moment more beautiful, the Barbie pink curtains that surrounded the musical siblings parted, and revealed a full orchestra that assisted in the arrangement. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood were moved by the performance, as Ariana Grande, and <\/span>Barbie<\/span><\/em>‘s Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig were amongst the few who became teary-eyed.<\/span><\/p>\n As the crowd gave the duo a standing ovation, Eilish emotionally hugged her big brother, before they left the stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On Sunday, Eilish and\u00a0Finneas <\/span>teased their performance with ET<\/a>, telling Nischelle Turner and Kevin Frazier that their big moment would be\u00a0“super simple” but also very meaningful.<\/span><\/p>\n “What I like about it is that it’s very back to how we created the song, very much just me and Finneas and kind of nothing else,” she said. “It’s very much the two of us that’s really special to me.”<\/span><\/p>\n This is not the first time Eilish has graced an awards show stage with a performance of the hit\u00a0<\/span>Barbie<\/span><\/em>\u00a0song. She <\/span>last sang it at the 2024 GRAMMYs in February<\/a>, where the track won Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The ballad, which was released as a single off the\u00a0<\/span>Barbie\u00a0<\/span><\/em>soundtrack in July 2023, has taken the world by storm, topping music charts and earning various accolades, including dozens of award nominations and the 2024 Golden Globe for Best Original Song.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At the Oscars, the song is up against fellow\u00a0<\/span>Barbie<\/span><\/em>\u00a0track “I’m Just Ken,” as well as\u00a0<\/span>American Symphony<\/span><\/em>‘s “It Never Went Away,”\u00a0<\/span>Flamin’ Hot<\/span><\/em>‘s “The Fire Inside” and\u00a0<\/span>Killers of the Flower Moon<\/span><\/em>‘s\u00a0“Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People).”<\/span><\/p>\n Eilish and Finneas, already won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2022 for their James Bond theme song, “No Time to Die.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0<\/span><\/i>2024 Academy Awards<\/a><\/i>, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, is airing live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. PT\/7 p.m. ET on ABC.
