Rock in Rio 2024 will take place on Friday, September 13, and run through Sunday, September 22, at Parque Ol\u00edmpico do Rio de Janeiro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Besides Mendes, other artists like Katy Perry<\/strong>, Charlie Puth<\/strong> and Travis Scott<\/strong> will be performing.<\/p>\nThe music festival will mark the second time over the past year that Mendes has taken the stage. He previously performed a duet<\/a> alongside his pal Niall Horan<\/strong> on Friday, March 1, during Horan\u2019s The Show: Live on Tour<\/em> at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London. The pair performed an acoustic version of Mendes\u2019 hit single \u201cTreat You Better,\u201d which is from Mendes\u2019 second studio album, Illuminate<\/em>. He also made a brief appearance during Ed Sheeran<\/strong>\u2019s Mathematics Tour<\/em> stop in June 2023.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\nMendes himself has not toured himself since his Wonder: The World Tour<\/em> in 2022. He kicked things off at the end of June 2022, but ended up postponing<\/a>\u00a0it shortly after for three weeks so he could focus on his mental health. He ultimately canceled<\/a> the rest of the tour entirely to focus on his mental health.<\/p>\n\u201cI started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away,\u201d he shared via Instagram<\/a>. \u201cAfter speaking more with my team and working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time I\u2019ve never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
