Cat Deeley<\/strong> <\/a>is praising So You Think You Can Dance <\/i><\/a>judge Allison Holker<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s \u201chealthy\u201d outlook following the death of her husband, Stephen \u201ctWitch\u201d Boss<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s been very, very open about talking<\/a> about tWitch and I think that is really healthy because, in actual fact, the only way to take a terribly, terribly devastating thing is to try and make it positive,\u201d Deeley, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i>on Thursday, March 7, while discussing season 18 of the dance competition. \u201cThat\u2019s the only way you can process that as a human being. What she\u2019s done is she\u2019s turned it around and she\u2019s like, \u2018I am going to talk about it.\u2019 And the more those lines of communication are open for everybody, and the more we discuss and the more we don\u2019t hide away, I think the better it is for everybody \u2014 for everybody\u2019s mental health and everybody watching at home and everybody on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deeley, who began hosting SYTYCD <\/i>during season 2 in 2006, further noted that Holker, 36, has handled the devastating situation \u201cso beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were talking about it the other day and I said, \u2018I have to say you just [have] handled yourself with poise,\u2019\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAnother year, another batch of young hopefuls aspiring to become America\u2019s favorite dancer!\u00a0After 16 successful seasons,\u00a0Fox\u2019s summer reality mainstay\u00a0So You Think You Can Dance\u00a0has continually launched several of\u00a0its contestants into dance stardom. \u201cEach season, the talent on So You Think You Can Dance reaches new levels and continues to create the most incredible routines,\u201d Rob [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Deeley has known Holker and Boss since their respective seasons of SYTYCD<\/i>, which aired in 2006 and 2008. The couple, who wed in 2013, met on season 7 when they were tapped as \u201cAll-Star\u201d mentors for the first time.<\/p>\n

Boss died by suicide at the age of 40 in December 2022. He is survived by Holker and their three kids: Weslie, 15, Maddox, 7, and Zaia, 3. (Weslie is Holker\u2019s daughter from a previous relationship, whom Boss adopted.)<\/p>\n

Following Boss\u2019 passing, the SYTYCD <\/i>and dance communities rallied around Holker<\/a> and her kids to help keep his memory alive.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was always just a super charming, super smart, incredibly loving, gentle man,\u201d Deeley remembered of Boss, noting she has \u201cso many\u201d memories with him. \u201cHe was always a big sweater, and I would say that, too. He\u2019d come off stage and he\u2019d be soaking wet and he\u2019d be like, \u2018No, no, I\u2019m not going to hug you. I\u2019m not going to.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Come on, bring it in, bring it in.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

A separate memorable encounter occurred after Deeley watched his competitive solo routine to Midnight Touch\u2019s \u201dMidas Touch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother time he was on stage and he\u2019d done this routine and he got a grill in his mouth. I was like, \u2018Come on, hand [it over]. I can be street in my British accent,\u2019\u201d she joked. \u201cSo I put his glasses on and his grill, everybody was like, \u2018Ah!\u2019 I was like, \u2018Don\u2019t care.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhen So You Think You Can Dance debuted on FOX in 2005, a panel of dance experts were tapped to discover the best up-and-coming performers. Nigel Lythgoe, who cocreated the competition series alongside Simon Fuller, served as one of the longtime judges since the season 1 premiere. However, after cueing the audition music and marveling [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Holker joined the So You Think You Can Dance <\/i>judging panel for season 18, which premiered on Monday, March 4, sitting next to Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/strong> and JoJo Siwa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Allison\u2019s] obviously got the experience of the show and she knows all of that too, but she\u2019s also got a lot of heart and she adds that dimension to it as well,\u201d Deeley told Us<\/i>.<\/p>\n

As Holker, Chmerkovskiy, 44, and Siwa, 20, search for America\u2019s Top Dancer, the contestants are in for a range of new challenges.<\/p>\n
