Bookworms, the solution to organizing your literature isn\u2019t located in IKEA\u2019s storage section. It\u2019s actually located in the store\u2019s kitchenware area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Design expert Medina Grillo<\/a> discovered a hack that turns IKEA\u2019s $5.99 OSTBIT<\/a> plate holder into a hanging bedside bookshelf. And in a TikTok<\/a>, she shows viewers just how easy the DIY is.<\/p>\n

First, she takes some self-adhesive hooks and a dish rack (Grillo<\/a> says you can just use one you already have to cut costs). Then, she attaches the items vertically. And that\u2019s it, a bookshelf that\u2019s space-efficient, renter-friendly, and surprisingly charming.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is literally one of my favorite hacks in my bedroom right now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This isn\u2019t even Grillo\u2019s first go-round with the hack. She previously used the plate racks to store her cookbook collection<\/a>, and liked it so much that her latest TikTok shows how she added additional<\/em> dish racks to accommodate more books.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore space for all my new books and I can take away or add to the shelf whenever I like,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Some commenters noted that the hooks and adhesive don\u2019t stick to the walls. According to a commenter, the solution is to clean the wall with rubbing alcohol, hold the hooks on there for 30 seconds, then wait an hour before hanging the plate holder.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing falls!\u201d the commenter said.<\/p>\n

Others complained that the adhesive sticks too much and can cause a layer of paint to rip off. To avoid this scenario, Grillo advised: \u201c\u2026 next time use your hairdryer. It heats up the glue and it [the adhesive] peels off.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
