Kirsten Dunst<\/a> was called the “girly-girl” on the set of ‘Spider-Man’.<\/p>\n

Kirsten Dunst took a two-year break from acting as she was only offered ‘sad mom’ roles<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old actress starred as Mary Jane Watson alongside Tobey Maguire<\/a>‘s Peter Parker \/ Spider-Man in Sam Raimi’s \u2018Spider-Man\u2019 trilogy between 2002 and 2007, and she has admitted she felt forced to keep quiet about the name-calling because otherwise she could risk her job.<\/p>\n

Kirsten told Marie Claire: \u201cIt was a joke, but on Spider-Man, they would call me \u2018girly-girl\u2019 sometimes on the walkie-talkie. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut I never said anything \u2026 Like, don\u2019t call me that.\u201d<\/p>\n

If it had been post-MeToo movement, she might have had said something.<\/p>\n

\nKirsten said: \u201cYou didn\u2019t say anything. You just took it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe ‘Bring It On’ star also revealed she took her two-year break from acting after being “offered” all the “sad mom” roles after starring in 2021’s psychological drama ‘The Power of the Dog’ as widow Rose Gordon.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: \u201cEvery role I was being offered was the sad mom.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cTo be honest, that\u2019s been hard for me\u2026because I need to feed myself. The hardest thing is being a mom and \u2026 not feeling like, I have nothing for myself. That\u2019s every mother\u2014not just me.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThere\u2019s definitely less good roles for women my age.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nKirsten also revealed she suffered post-traumatic stress disorder after she finished ‘Civil War’.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: “I remember hearing them practice an explosion. We were in the hair and makeup trailer, which was very far away from set, and the whole trailer shook.<\/p>\n

\n“There’s so much gunfire, and then you look at the news and it’s a school shooting again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nKirsten “had PTSD for a good two weeks after.<\/p>\n

\n“I remember coming home and eating lunch and I felt really empty.”<\/p>\n

\nHowever, she took on the job because roles for women her age are limited.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: \u201cYes, that\u2019s why I did Civil War.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
