The 34-year-old singer – who is dating former soccer star Alex Scott<\/a> – has always made a concerted effort to keep her love life out of the spotlight.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the ‘Happy Place’ podcast, Jess explained: “The work that I\u2019ve done on myself has actually settled me inside and it\u2019s allowed me to enter a relationship where I feel very comfortable and I\u2019m just me. I\u2019m unapologetically me.<\/p>\n

“It has allowed me to be really happy in a new relationship. I think love is a really scary subject and it’s normally something I keep quite distant. <\/p>\n

“But it\u2019s a nice thing to be able to embrace someone and a relationship that feels really genuinely good.”<\/p>\n

\nDespite this, Jess has still struggled dating another celebrity.<\/p>\n

\nThe ‘I’ll Be There’ hitmaker – who made her romance Instagram official over Christmas – shared: “It\u2019s something that I\u2019m getting used to. I do love to somehow keep my personal life to myself. It\u2019s so important.<\/p>\n

\n“Even though we\u2019re both in this public space, what we have, that\u2019s ours. I feel like that\u2019s something I will always do.<\/p>\n

\n“People want so much from you and what is so beautiful is that we both feel like that way and it’s something we will stick to and keep to ourselves.”<\/p>\n

\nLast year, a source close to the celebrity duo described their romance as a “slow burn”. <\/p>\n

\nThe insider told The Sun newspaper: “Alex and Jess have been a slow burn and they didn’t want to rush things or go public too soon.<\/p>\n

\n“But they’re officially an item now and seem really happy. They are both strong, independent women with a shared passion and respect of their respective careers, supporting one another from the sidelines.<\/p>\n

\n“It’s still early days for them, but they’ve met one another’s mates and everyone is super happy for them.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
