He’s set his sights on playing in the Indian Wells Masters this March and aims to throw his all into this year’s European clay-court season, possibly his last. Nadal spoke candidly about his uncertainty regarding retirement but emphasized his desire to continue competing as long as he feels joy and competitiveness on the court.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a press conference in Las Vegas before meeting with Alcaraz, Nadal outlined his intention to give everything he left during the European clay-court season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhatever has to be left, leave it in the season of clay, which may or may not be the last, I have not decided 100 per cent. For Nadal, saying goodbye to tennis isn’t in his immediate plans, stressing that he’s still in the game despite the challenges. He focuses on enjoying the sport he loves and assessing how he feels as the season progresses.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not saying goodbye because then I\u2019d say I\u2019m not playing anymore. This is an important point and I don\u2019t want to say it because I\u2019m not 100% clear about it. \u201cTwo weeks ago, when I could not go to Doha, well it is another blow, but here we are. I\u2019m going to give myself the opportunity to enjoy it a little more.\u201d<\/p>\n
