Carly Pearce<\/strong> is responding to speculation that she\u2019s feuding with Maren Morris<\/strong><\/a> after recording a song with her ex-husband, Ryan Hurd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay. Since I have seen this all over, I figured I would respond,\u201d the \u201cEvery Little Thing\u201d singer, 33, shared on Monday, March 4, via X<\/a>. \u201cRyan has been a friend of mine for over 10 yrs. I was asked by my label to record this song with him for the Petty tribute and of course I said yes because he\u2019s a great artist. STOP making something out of nothing!\u201d<\/p>\n

Pearce\u2019s social media post came after a fan questioned<\/a> why the country singer was collaborating with Hurd on a rendition of Tom Petty<\/strong>\u2019s hit 1976 single \u201cBreakdown.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair\u2019s updated rendition is expected to appear on the upcoming album, Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty<\/i>. The 20-track LP will feature contemporary covers of Petty\u2019s biggest hits and most beloved songs by Dolly Parton<\/strong>, Luke Combs<\/strong>, George Strait<\/strong> and other country singers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMaren Morris and Ryan Hurd\u2018s love story had all the makings of a great country song before they called it quits. Morris and Hurd met during a writing session for Tim McGraw\u2019s song \u201cLast Turn Home\u201d in 2013. The duo were friends for two years before their relationship turned romantic. Hurd detailed their journey in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The song will mark one of Hurd\u2019s biggest projects since his marriage with Morris came to an end. In October 2023, the couple \u2014 who share 3-year-old son Hayes \u2014 filed for divorce<\/a> after five years of marriage. Their split was finalized<\/a> three months later.<\/p>\n

While Hurd, 37, continues working in country music, Morris, 33, previously expressed her desire to leave the genre altogether.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

In September 2023, the \u201cChasing After You\u201d singer announced she was \u201cmoving forward\u201d from country when she released two new songs including \u201cThe Tree\u201d and \u201cGet the Hell Out of Here.\u201d<\/p>\n
