Sydney Sweeney has hit back at critics who accused her of having a fling with her \u2018Anyone But You\u2019 co-star Glen Powell<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Euphoria\u2019 actress, 26, was at the centre of accusations she and the \u2018Top Gun: Maverick\u2019 star, 35, were having an affair while they shot the romantic comedy in Australia, and Sydney has now used her opening monologue on \u2018Saturday Night Live\u2019 to hit back at the allegations.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cThe craziest rumour I\u2019ve seen is that while I was filming \u2018Anyone But You,\u2019 I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s obviously not true. Me and my fianc\u00e9 (Jonathan Davino) produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd I just want to let everyone know that he\u2019s the man of my dreams and we\u2019re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLooking at the camera crew, Sydney then asked: \u201cCan we cut to him?\u201d before Glen was seen in the audience with a stunned look on his face.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress exclaimed: \u201cThat\u2019s not my fianc\u00e9! He\u2019s in my dressing room and we have a great show for you tonight!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSydney and Glen later paired up for another skit, which saw the actress on a dinner date with her boyfriend \u2013 who she tells: \u201cI cheated on you with my boss and I think we should break up.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nGlen then appeared at the couple\u2019s table, saying: \u201cHey babycakes, want to get out here?\u201d \u2013 with the crowd cheering as they left together.<\/p>\n
\nAffair rumours of Sydney and Glen\u2019s affair began to spread, Glen broke up with his girlfriend Gigi Paris in April 2023 \u2013 leading to her unfollowing both him and Sweeney on social media.<\/p>\n
\nAround the same time, Sydney\u2019s fianc\u00e9e Jonathan, 38, was photographed leaving the actress\u2019 home in Los Angeles home with their dog and luggage. <\/p>\n
\nBut both Sydney and Glen have repeatedly shut down rumours they were secretly an item, with the actress telling Variety in August about making \u2018Anyone But You\u2019 with him: \u201cIt\u2019s a rom-com. That\u2019s what people want! Glen and I don\u2019t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he\u2019s such a hard worker, and I\u2019m a hard worker.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nGlen added Sydney was \u201cthe easiest person to have chemistry with\u201d, adding: \u201cWe make each other laugh. She\u2019s awesome, obviously one of the most talented actresses we have.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThis movie has felt like a rom-com in itself because Sydney is very easy to pretend fall in love with.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
