Kacey Musgraves<\/strong><\/a> got candid about her views on relationships and love following her split from Cole Schafer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t regret living and loving as hard as I do,\u201d Musgraves, 35, said in an interview with The Cut<\/em><\/a> published on Friday, March 1. \u201cWhenever I\u2019m in a relationship, I\u2019m all f\u2013king in. I think that hesitancy breeds hesitancy and if you go in with something with one foot, it\u2019s going to fail\u201d<\/p>\n

Musgraves admitted that after her divorce from Ruston Kelly<\/strong> in 2020 she felt like she wanted to protect her heart, however, she doesn\u2019t want to close herself off from love in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter divorce, it\u2019s like on one hand I do want to self-protect, but at the same time, if your heart is feeling open, I think you have to just show up for it,\u201d the \u201cDeeper Well\u201d singer explained to the outlet. \u201cI\u2019m still trying to figure out the balance of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following Musgraves\u2019 divorce from Kelly, 35, in July 2020 after three years of marriage, the singer moved on with Schafer<\/a>, 27, in August 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did not know who I was, which I loved,\u201d Musgraves recalled of the pair\u2019s first meeting in a crowded restaurant in a 2021 New York Times<\/em><\/a> profile. \u201cA handful of grown men come out, and they\u2019re sweating trying to keep up with you on the sidewalk. It feels very predatory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearly two years later, Musgraves and Schafer called it quits<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey weren\u2019t seeing eye to eye in terms of where they are in life right now and decided to end things,\u201d a source told Us Weekly<\/em> in November 2023.<\/p>\n

One month later, another source told Us<\/em> that Schafer didn\u2019t care for the \u201cglitz and glamor\u201d<\/a> that came along with dating Musgraves and that their \u201cpersonalities didn\u2019t exactly gel\u201d in the end.<\/p>\n

The musicians tied the knot in October 2017 after sparking their romance the previous year. In July 2020, they announced they were going their separate ways. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the insider, Schafer didn\u2019t like \u201cattending all these events as Kacey\u2019s plus-one\u201d and is \u201can extremely sensitive, soulful guy who doesn\u2019t share her ambitions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Four months after her breakup from Schafer, Musgraves announced her new album<\/a>, Deeper Well,<\/em> which is set to be released on March 15.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a collection of songs I hold very dear to my heart. I hope it makes a home in all of your hearts too,\u201d the \u201cRainbow\u201d singer wrote via Instagram<\/a> in February, while also announcing that she was dropping the title track song and the music video that same day.<\/p>\n
