Jax Taylor<\/strong><\/a> has spoken out after wife Brittany Cartwright<\/strong><\/a> dropped the bombshell news that she\u2019s moving out<\/a> of their shared home.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re together. We\u2019re living in our home right now,\u201d Taylor, 44, told Page Six<\/em><\/a> on Thursday, February 29, before claiming that while Cartwright, 35, was \u201cin a house for a while\u201d she\u2019s now \u201cback home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor added that the pair are trying to \u201cfigure out\u201d the next steps of their separation, noting that the new dynamic is still \u201cfresh and new.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not evil or nastiness,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s just two people that you now are hitting a 10-year mark in their marriage. We\u2019re just spending some time apart and just trying to re-assess, you know, our situation. We have a child involved and we just wanna do what\u2019s best for our kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s statement comes just after Cartwright shared in the final moments of their \u201cWhen Reality Hits\u201d podcast earlier on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship. I just think it is important to be real and honest with you guys because we have shared so much of our life with you guys,\u201d Cartwright said, confirming that she and Taylor have experienced \u201ca particularly rough year\u201d in their marriage. \u201cI don\u2019t want it to seem like I am lying or anything like that. So I think it is important for me to say this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile some things never change, the cast of Vanderpump Rules is used to a shake-up \u2026 and a touch-up. Vanderpump Rules was introduced to Bravo viewers during a special episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in January 2013. Season 1 starred Lisa Vanderpump, who was a Beverly Hills Housewife at the time, Stassi [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added: \u201cJax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health. I won\u2019t get into too many details right now because this is still really hard to talk about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the former Vanderpump Rules<\/em><\/a> stars alluded to needing \u201cspace\u201d in their marriage after fans questioned the status of their relationship. (Taylor was in Montreal, Canada, earlier this month before traveling to his native Detriot. Cartwright stated she had learned about his trip via social media.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that we will have to address some rumors \u2014 just a little bit. I\u2019m not going to go too hard on this because, you know, some people do deserve to have their privacy. But I will say \u2014 marriage is hard, and people go through ups and downs all the time and it\u2019s completely normal,\u201d Cartwright said during the February 22 episode of the podcast. \u201cSometimes people might need their space [and] sometimes they won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor did not offer any insight on the situation. Cartwright continued by hinting at bumps in the road<\/a> after they filmed the forthcoming Bravo series The Valley<\/em><\/a> \u201cmonths ago.\u201d (The Valley<\/em> is set to premiere via Bravo on Tuesday, March 19.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to make one thing clear and that is that my life is not a publicity stunt for anything,\u201d Cartwright stated, noting that there have been \u201cso many changes\u201d since cameras went off. \u201cI just want to make that very clear: no publicity stunts here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor and Cartwright have been married for nearly five years, tying the knot in a June 2019 wedding<\/a> that aired during season 8 of Vanderpump Rules<\/em>. The couple share one son, Cruz, 2.<\/p>\n
