The \u2018Ray\u2019 actor, 56, told fans on his Instagram he is going to get back to comedy \u2013 after he stayed out of the public eye from April to December 2023 after being stricken with a \u201cmedical complication\u201d that left him hospitalised.<\/p>\n

He posted a video from one of his past stand-up specials that showed him doing an impression of the late musician Prince<\/a> alongside the caption: \u201cPRINCE singing the \u2018Brady Bunch\u2019 theme song was a moment\u2026 I\u2019m planning on bringing more moments.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing to get on somebody\u2019s stage somewhere near you. I got some jokes, and a story to tell\u2026 .\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedy clip was taken from Jamie\u2019s 2002 HBO special \u2018I Might Need Security\u2019 and showed the actor joking about what the theme song to the 1970s sitcom \u2018The Brady Bunch\u2019 would sound like if Prince<\/a> had sang the tune.<\/p>\n

\nJamie first rose to fame as a comedian and was a cast member on the early 1990s sketch show \u2018In Living Color\u2019 and released three comedy specials between 1993 and 2003.<\/p>\n

\nHe now also has a number of movies in the works, including the Netflix thriller \u2018Back in Action\u2019, in which he co-stars with 51-year-old Cameron Diaz.<\/p>\n

\nThe pair were midway through shooting the film in April 2023 when Jamie was hit by an illness so severe it left him hospitalised for months.<\/p>\n

\nThe pair were seen filming the movie again in January, and Netflix has teased that the movie will come out later this year.<\/p>\n

\nJamie has not performed stand-up for years amid his acting and music career, which saw him release five studio albums between 1994 and 2015.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
