Wendy Williams<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 rep is slamming the Lifetime docu-series Where Is Wendy Williams?<\/em> amid the talk show host\u2019s diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.<\/a><\/p>\n Shawn Zanotti<\/strong> gave an interview sharing that the docu-series that was pitched is completely different than what was released.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Shawn <\/strong>has been working with Wendy <\/strong>since 2021.<\/p>\n Shawn <\/strong>shared with the Today <\/a>show, \u201cI felt that [Williams] was being exploited. She thought we were focusing on the comeback of her career. \u2026 She would be mortified. There\u2019s no way you can convince me that she would be OK with looking and seeing herself in that way.\u201d<\/p>\n Wendy <\/strong>was reportedly pitched the series in 2022. <\/p>\n \u201cWhen I mentioned [doing a documentary] to Wendy, she immediately said: \u2018Yes, I would love to do it. I would love to be able to get my story out there,\u2019\u201d Shawn <\/strong>said, adding that what ended up making it to air was not what they had agreed on originally.<\/p>\n \u201cThat is not the project that [Williams] signed up for. That\u2019s not the project [the producers] brought to me. That\u2019s not what I told her this was going to be about,\u201d Shawn <\/strong>continued. \u201cThere were a lot of good moments. None of those good moments were shown.\u201d<\/p>\n Those behind the production say they weren\u2019t aware of Wendy<\/strong>\u2018s diagnosis at the time<\/a>: \u201cSome days, Wendy <\/strong>was on and very Wendy<\/strong>. Other days, she wasn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n Showrunner Erica Hanson <\/strong>said about the decision to tell the story: \u201cWe all felt this was a complex and sensitive story to tell, and we all felt a great responsibility to do it with dignity and sensitivity.\u201d<\/p>\n Shawn<\/strong>, however, has a response: \u201cI don\u2019t think [the diagnosis] would have stopped them at all. The producers were asking questions throughout the entire time \u2014 would ask questions where she would somewhat seem confused, and I feel as though it was done to be intentional at that moment in time to make their storyline. Again, this was presented as a documentary to her, but to me, it looked as though it was a reality show of a circus, a circus to her downfall.\u201d<\/p>\n Shawn <\/strong>said, \u201cI did not agree with what was going on with this documentary. I made it very clear to the guardian. The production company was aware of that. I didn\u2019t \u2014 I didn\u2019t agree with the way this was moving and shaking. And instead of them dealing with it with me, they decided to ignore me.
