Brettsey, are no different.<\/p>\n<p>Like many fictional duos before them, Casey (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/jesse-spencer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jesse Spencer<\/strong><\/a>) and Brett\u2019s (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/chicago-fire-star-kara-killmer-defends-her-characters-exit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kara Killmer<\/strong><\/a>) road to romance was full of bumps and bruises. The twosome met in season 3 when Killmer joined the cast as paramedic Brett, working alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/best-firefighter-tv-shows-of-all-time-chicago-fire-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firefighter Casey<\/a>\u2019s then-fianc\u00e9e, Gabby Dawson (<strong>Monica Raymund<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Casey and Brett had an instant friendship, but it wasn\u2019t until his relationship with Dawson ended in season 7 that Brett came into view as Casey\u2019s perfect match.
